SENTRICON* SYSTEM VS. TRADITIONAL TERMITE CONTROL

One of the main differences between the Sentricon* System and the traditional means of termite control that uses a termiticide barrier treatment is the concept of colony elimination. The Sentricon* System eliminates the subterranean termite colonies attacking a structure. The traditional chemical soil barrier keeps individual termites from gaining access to the structure. Other than preventing termite access to a particular structure, the traditional barrier does not affect the colony in any way.

The following chart lists more specific comparisons between the two technologies including "do it yourself baiting":

Sentricon* Baiting System Baits - over the counter (you do it) Soil Barrier (old style)
Treatment damage to your structure Limited drilling (requires special tools) If you can - limited drilling Excessive drilling
Results Actual colony elimination Reduction in colony size Repels termites
Chemical usage Limited pesticide usage Limited pesticide usage Large chemical usage
Ease of application Easy application Easy application Difficult application

Lender Acceptance Yes No Yes
Fringe Benefits - Other pest control None-*Sentricon is specifically for Subterranean Termites None Reduces other pest populations - specifically arthropod pests
